All of our driving instructors are professionally trained and certified. They emphasise defensive driving and driver responsibility. Our instructors are comfortable with both teens and adults, and safety is their first priority.

Carl Surgey

Carl started Borders Driving School in 2004 after serving in the Royal Air Force for 26 years as a medic.

He has held a driving licence since 1984 becoming a fully registered ADI in 2005.

He is a member of the Driving Instructors Association (DIA).

He also holds a full motorcycle licence and is a member Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM), holding a advanced test First  for motorcycles.

Carl covers the area surrounding Galashiels, Selkirk, Melrose & Earlston.
